Burnout

Most people think that burnout is caused by the number of hours that they work or by a really crappy boss. It’s just not true. I have clients that work 30 hours a week who are burned out and I have friends that work 80 hours a week who are not. I had a great boss and I was burned out and I have friends who have crappy bosses who are not.

So what is it then that causes burnout? It’s two things in my opinion.

  1. Not paying attention to your energy levels and keeping them replenished
  2. Allowing your mind to run amuck and use up all the energy
