The most valuable asset we have is time. You cannot get more of it, but you can deliberately use it in a way that liberates time so that you can have more balance in your life.
Time is a mental construct. It’s the way we manage our mind around each day in which we all agree with the process. I wonder who first came up with the concept of minutes, hours, and days???
Are you in control of your time or are you the victim of your time? Are you using your time to move you ahead or are you using time as an excuse as to why you aren’t getting ahead?
To spend your time the best way possible you have to think about and use your time in a deliberate way. Have you noticed that when time is spent correctly you get so many of the feelings you want out of life including balance, meaning, accomplishment, pride, success, and appreciation?
So what are your thoughts about time? Your top five thoughts about time will prove whatever result you are getting in your life.
Victim thoughts about time:
- I don’t have enough time
- I’m crazy busy
- There’s not enough time in the day to do everything I need to do
- I don’t like to plan; I like to be spontaneous
- There’s no way I can get all my work done in 40 hours
Powerful thoughts about time:
- I’m focused today
- I’m a master planner
- I have all the time I need to accomplish my goals
- I only need to focus on one thing at a time
- I’m in complete control of my schedule
Spending time deliberately also frees up time because we will spend less time thinking or worrying about doing something and more time actually doing it and getting it done.
What’s interesting to me is how many people will actually commit to a financial plan or budget, but don’t even consider a time plan or budget. Time is the more finite and valuable resource of the two. Money can be created; time cannot.
Think about your relationship with time. You’ll have so much less stress and drama if you treat it like the valuable asset that it is. Be deliberate my friends!
